Google Keep is useful for keeping all your important notes to yourself together. Sticky notes are cool but too many of those can become messy and, more often than not, they also get misplaced.
Google Keep Web App Another option for accessing Google Keep on Windows 10, is to use the web app. Head to keep.google.com, log in with your Google account, and you will be able to access all of. Google keep is a great notes app that syncs with your google cloud and can be saved everywhere. How I would suggest to improve it is that there should be a way where the google keep app can have the sticky notes function where certain notes can be pinned to our home screen. Otherwise, the app is doing great. To experience the full functionality of Google Keep, the Google Chrome extension is a must. This will allow you to save images, text and web pages directly to your Google Keep with a simple click. Either right click on the text/image you want to save, or use the Chrome extension icon at the top of your browser. Below, you’ll see how I saved.
With an application such as Google Keep, you can quickly access all your notes and sync them across multiple devices as long as you are connected to the Internet.
Google Keep has many features that make it a must-have tool. First Google Keep allows for the recording of notes in multiple formats such as audio, images, and text.
In addition, you can also set location-based reminders so that you don't forget to carry out planned activities on arrival at a particular place.
Notes can also be shared. This allows for collaboration of items such as shopping lists.
Finally, quick filtering, according to the type of note, allows for the easy location of your information. You can also carry out searches based on the name of the note.
There are native mobile apps available that are easy to access when you're on the go. Luckily, you can access this useful app on your Windows 10 PC as well.

Introduction
As a Google Keep user, you need to make sure that you can access the application easily for faster input of your tasks. As per the statistics, though the percentage of traffic is more from mobile devices, people tend to spend more time on a website when they access through desktops. So here we are going to see “how to access google keep Desktop”. Then we will shift our focus on mobile and browser extensions.
Google Keep Desktop
There is no native application built for Desktops. But we can get a desktop-like experience using Chrome Browser shortcut. Below are the steps to follow to have Google Keep Desktop:
- Install Chrome Browser
- In Chrome Browser, Navigate to Google Keep and log in
- In Chrome Browser Menu, you will see triple dots as below. Click on that triple dots, then select “More tools” and finally click “Create Shortcut”
- In the “Create Shortcut” popup, select the checkbox “Open as window” and click Create.
- The shortcut will be available on your desktop as shown below:
- Right Click on the “Google Keep” shortcut in desktop and select “Pin to taskbar”
- Once pinned, it will available in your desktop taskbar
- Using the above shortcut you can launch Google Keep easily. When you do so, the usual chrome window won’t be displayed and you get a desktop-like interface. This is your Google Keep Desktop setup.

- Install the Google Keep app from Playstore here
- One done, you can launch the app
- For faster access, you can set up a widget as below. Depending on the Android version:

- Once done, you can launch the app
Google Keep Browser Extension
- In Chrome Browser, go to Chrome Browser webstore
- Click Install
- Once installed, the “Google Keep” icon will be displayed in the menu bar of the Chrome Browser as shown below:
- This is the extension that can be used to save the sites to google keep with a single click. Once you click on the “google keep” icon, you will show a pop up where you can take note of the current site that you have visited and read site content later. That’s the reason we had created a list called “Bookmark” in our system. Make sure all the sites that you want to read later are labeled as “Bookmarks”.
- Another advantage comes from the fact that, once you install the chrome extension, your right-click menu on the browser will have options to directly save image or page to google keep.
- Right, Click Menu on the browser will also have the option to select text and save it to google keep.

It’s sad to say that we don’t have an official add-on for Firefox. I would suggest using Chrome. Even if you avoid it for browsing, you can install it just as Google Keep Desktop shortcut creator.
There is an unofficial version of Google Keep add-on here. I have never used it and suggest to avoid it.
